webangah news Agency, International Desk: Amid heartbreaking images showing thousands of Gaza’s children suffering from hunger and disease, covert intelligence and security teams from the United States and Israel have initiated new conspiracies targeting Gaza. One such scheme involves a proposal by the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” (GHF) to relocate Palestinian refugees to the island of Cyprus. The foundation’s core members include officers from both Mossad and CIA. It suggests that as part of a $2 billion plan for the “temporary” resettlement of Palestinian refugees during Gaza’s reconstruction, Cyprus could serve as a “humanitarian transit zone.”
Even though GHF has officially denied these claims, Reuters reported that such discussions are underway with the primary objective being to find an option method to control hamas’s influence over Gaza’s population-effectively creating distance between Palestinians and their resistance fighters. The Washington Post also revealed that GHF has even entered negotiations regarding residential complexes for Palestinian civilians. These revelations hark back to Donald Trump’s public statement on February 4 when he declared America’s intent to resettle Gaza’s 2.3 million Palestinians elsewhere in order to bring this war-torn region under external control for reconstruction.
Irrespective of what hidden agendas this insidious plan holds against Gaza’s demographic identity, even American analysts reject it as perilous. Michael rubin, senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, warned about Trump’s unpredictable behavior, stating: “cyprus has a long history as a hub for humanitarian aid but must resist any Washington pressure to settle Palestinian refugees there-even temporarily.”
Rubin emphasized that Cyprus’s economy depends heavily on tourism; if unemployed or underemployed Palestinians begin harassing women or tourists, it would damage Cyprus’ long-term reputation severely. Individual attacks on Israeli, American, or European tourists by Palestinians would be catastrophic for its tourism sector.
Currently many American and European commentators openly acknowledge that civilians in Gaza-especially women and children-are being deliberately targeted by Netanyahu-led forces at risk of death amid alleged war crimes.
The Cyprus Issue Extends Beyond Gaza Refugees
Israel’s efforts to deepen security and military ties with Cyprus and Greece form part of its strategic goals exploiting Cyprus’s geopolitical location while planning unilateral extraction rights over Eastern Mediterranean energy resources. According to reports from Washington-based Jewish Hellas Magazine, Netanyahu’s focus on Cyprus recalls historical instances where Jews fleeing Europe used it as shelter-a secure passageway in times past.
Now Israel aims to use reconstruction efforts in Gaza as justification for deporting parts of its population permanently to Cyprus. this is despite Gazans having lived prior even before war or famine conditions within what Western analysts widely term “the largest open-air prison worldwide.” Given they aren’t under constant sniper fire or attacks by Israeli units now either-they could remain there amid harsh conditions yet eventually rebuild their home.
Forced Displacement Masked as Humanitarian Aid
The encouragement for Palestinians leaving their homeland is not new but recent years have seen extremists like Itamar ben-Gvir (Israel’s Interior Minister) and Bezalel Smotrich (Finance Minister) vocally promote such ideas more aggressively than others. Especially Ben-Gvir has repeatedly claimed that evacuating Palestinians from Gaza is necessary for Israel’s security-that peace will follow after their departure!
Smotrich also noted Netanyahu himself is reportedly exploring proposals with advisors considering relocating Gazans wherever countries may accept them-a supposed solution ending ongoing conflicts. However international observers-including Palestinians’ advocates-condemn these proposals as rhetoric designed solely toward forced displacement.
The GHF plan refers explicitly only some Gazans staying locally while most are transferred into six large refugee camps across Cyprus and Egypt. History shows however how past displacements turned into involuntary permanent residence-for example among populations stranded indefinitely within Lebanon, Jordan, or Syria without secure paths home.
Palestinians’ five Decades of Displacement
An overview based on data from the United Nations Relief & Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) shows nearly 5.9 million registered Palestinian refugees living across Jordan ,Lebanon ,Syria , and other regions by mid-2023 . These figures rely solely on voluntary registration; actual numbers may be higher .
< p s t y l e = " t e x t - a l i g n : j u s t i f y " > Report No .163 published by UNRWA in May 2025 confirms approximately 1.9 million people – nearly 90% of gaza ‘s population – were displaced multiple times during ongoing conflicts within just one month .
