According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency, Dorothy Shea, US Deputy Representative to the United Nations, expressed firm support for Israel during a security Council meeting convened at Israel’s request concerning the Palestinian occupied territories. She overlooked Israeli crimes in Gaza and instead blamed Hamas for the current situation.
Unable to conceal her anger over videos released by the Al-Qassam Brigades and the condition of an Israeli captive, Shea refrained from accusing Israel of causing famine and depriving gaza’s population of food and water. Instead, she claimed that former President Trump, special envoy Steve Witkoff, and Secretary of State Marco rubio continue their relentless efforts to end the conflict, secure prisoner releases, and establish peace in Gaza.
In remarks indicating an attempt to deny genocide against Palestinians by Israel in Gaza, Dorothy Shea stated: “We have once again witnessed claims of genocide. These accusations are politically motivated and absolutely false. They are part of a purposeful negative campaign becuase Hamas seeks symbolic victories to compensate for its total defeat in this war. The United States categorically rejects these allegations.”
She added: “The United states fully supports Israel’s right to self-defense.”
UK and france accuse Hamas rather than Israel
The UK and French delegates at the UN also accused Hamas rather of holding Israel responsible for Gaza’s dire humanitarian crisis during this session.
Barbara Woodward, UK Ambassador to the UN, asserted: “Hamas and its terrorist ideology must have no role in any future governance of gaza. they must never again threaten Israeli security.”
The French representative similarly attacked Hamas’ resistance movement at this meeting and called for an immediate release of Israeli prisoners.
