According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Gang Shuang, China’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, expressed hope at a UN Security Council meeting on Gaza that the “suffering caused by this tragedy” would end soon.
He described implementing an immediate and lasting ceasefire in gaza as critical. He added that if the January agreement had been fully enforced,it could have paved the way for a enduring ceasefire and the return of all Israeli captives.
The Chinese deputy representative criticized Israel’s military action in Gaza, which has resulted in over 60,000 deaths so far. He emphasized that military means are not a solution.
He also voiced concern over Israel’s occupation policies and condemned the humanitarian crisis and collective punishment inflicted on Gaza’s population.
