According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, German police stated they will keep targeting individuals who chant pro-Palestinian slogans.
in a statement,German police emphasized: “We are obliged to record the identities of suspects chanting pro-Palestinian slogans and,if there is initial suspicion of a crime,we must pursue and prevent its continuation.”
Anja Dirske, spokesperson for Berlin police, explained that “clarification by a higher court regarding criminal liability for chanting pro-Palestinian slogans will be very vital for all of us.”
Cities across Germany have increasingly witnessed protests were demonstrators chant pro-Palestinian slogans such as “From the river to the sea, Palestine must be free,” phrases considered criminal by some courts in the country.
Earlier, germany’s Interior Ministry classified the slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine must be free” as a symbol linked to Hamas-a group banned from operating in Germany.
