According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Al-Jadeed via Mehr News Agency, Ihab Hamadeh, a parliament member affiliated with the Loyalty Bloc, declared that the resistance will not surrender any part of its arsenal.
He added that the government’s actions are a blow to the national charter and that people will overturn it. This process will not be completed until after the next parliamentary elections.
Hamadeh pledged to loyal citizens that “the resistance will not hand over even a tiny fraction of its weapons,” asserting that this plan is doomed to fail.
Recently, the Lebanese government asked the army to develop a plan by year-end aiming for state monopoly over arms and disarmament of the resistance.
Furthermore, Sheikh Naim Qassem, Hezbollah’s deputy secretary-general, responded recently to calls for the resistance’s surrender: “We are no one’s slaves. Israel seeks to avoid large-scale war as resistance forces-alongside Lebanon’s army and people-stand ready against any aggression. The security Israel has built over eight months would collapse within an hour.” He emphasized that handing over weapons would not stop hostilities-a fact acknowledged by Israeli officials as well.
