Zamir: We Must Allow Our Military Personnel to Take a Break

The Chief of ​Staff of the Israeli Army acknowledged the fatigue of his forces in ‌his latest statement.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Samah News Agency via Mehr News Agency, Eyal Zamir, Chief of⁢ Staff of ‍the Israeli Army, admitted to the exhaustion among troops and emphasized ⁣ongoing assessments of the army’s readiness for operations in Gaza.

Eyal Zamir stated,”We must learn from past experiences and evaluate our preparedness for continuing this war.”

He added,⁤ “We are at the start of a new phase in the Gaza conflict.⁢ Based on defined objectives, we ⁣will utilize optimal methods and frameworks. At the same time, we must consider ‌the conditions of hostages⁤ and act as much as possible to ensure their lives are not endangered so ‌that they ⁢can be safely returned.”

The Israeli ‍Army Chief also acknowledged his soldiers’ fatigue:⁢ “We must allow our troops some rest so ⁢they can maintain their ability to continue operations in Gaza.”

Previously, after Prime Minister Benjamin ‌netanyahu’s plan to occupy Gaza was approved, Zamir had stressed that ​reserve forces were experiencing⁢ severe exhaustion with significant consequences ahead.

Further highlighting Israel’s deep military crisis, Hebrew-language newspaper Israel Hayom reported quoting Zamir that maintaining long-term control over Gaza woudl be extremely tough for Israeli forces.

The Israeli security⁣ cabinet approved⁤ Netanyahu’s plan for occupying Gaza after ten hours of discussions early Friday morning.
