the Saudi national Maritime Transport Company has denied the recent reports alleging its involvement in transporting weapons to the occupied territories.
The company emphasized its commitment to Saudi Arabia’s policies regarding the Palestinian issue.
The statement added that the company has never transported any shipments to the occupied territories and that all its operations are subject to strict oversight.
A few days ago, it was reported that workers at Genoa port in Italy prevented a Saudi ship from passing through. The vessel, originating from Yanbu, was reportedly carrying military equipment destined for Israel.
The report stated that this military cargo came from the United States and was headed towards the region when Genoa port staff realized it was intended for Israel.
Later, about 40 Genoa port workers boarded and blockaded the deck of the Saudi ship.
Port officials pledged to establish a permanent monitoring mechanism to prevent arms trafficking following this incident.
