According to the English section of webangah News Agency, a group of young theater actors from BRICS Plus member countries will head to Moscow in late summer to participate in the international “Inti-Rasha” scholarship program focused on performing arts. The event is organized by the Gorchakov public Diplomacy Foundation and the Russian State Institute of Theater Arts (GITIS), in collaboration with the TV BRICS international media network, with financial support from the Presidential Grants Foundation.
The training course will run from August 25 to October 3, 2025, hosting representatives from Argentina, Brazil, india, China, Cuba, Mauritania, Tunisia, and South Africa. The program targets individuals aged 21 to 35-including senior students at specialized performing arts schools and universities as well as young professional actors.
Zhanna Tolstikova, CEO of TV BRICS, highlighted the network’s role in providing media support for BRICS Plus cultural projects. She noted that in preparation for this course at GITIS in 2025, data was shared with over 60 institutions-including diplomatic missions, educational centers, and artistic associations across 15 countries-and published through foreign partner media outlets affiliated with TV BRICS. Tolstikova added that most applications came from countries where participants had previously viewed the documentary “Worthy of Applause; New Roles for BRICS Plus Actors,” which covered the first round of this scholarship.
Over six weeks, participants will attend classes on acting techniques including voice expression and movement while learning about Konstantin Stanislavski’s life and methodology. They will also visit leading theaters, museums, and cultural centers throughout Moscow.
Grigory Zaslavsky, head of GITIS recalling last year’s accomplished inaugural course said: “This year we extended the program from four weeks to six so students can deepen their understanding of Russian theater and the Stanislavski system.” In addition to practical work on their craft as actors they will analyze Alexander Ostrovsky’s play “The Storm” using effective analysis methods before performing selected scenes at course end.
