First Visit by an American Politician from Tel Aviv to Damascus in 51 Years

For the⁤ first time in 51 years, an⁣ American politician traveled⁤ directly from Tel Aviv to Damascus.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Rosilyoum via Mehr News Agency, Ibrahim hammadeh, a U.S. congressman, announced that after visiting Tel Aviv, he traveled directly to Damascus and met with Abu Muhammad ‍al-Julani,⁣ the ‌leader of the terrorist group controlling Syria.

The meeting focused on discussions regarding the normalization of relations between⁢ Syria and the Israeli regime.

This trip is⁣ the first of its kind since 1974. Previously, Henry Kissinger, then‌ U.S. Secretary of State, traveled between‌ tel Aviv and​ Damascus for ceasefire negotiations following the October 1973 war.

Hammadeh stated that this marks the first time in decades that an ⁣American official has traveled directly‌ between Tel Aviv and ​Damascus.
