According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Masirah, Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the recent report by Hans Grundberg, the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, presented at today’s Security Council meeting.
The ministry expressed regret over Grundberg’s report, saying it “remains caught in a repetitive cycle and neglects the root causes of Yemen’s crisis.”
It added that discussing peace without addressing ongoing aggression by Saudi Arabia and the UAE-as well as continuous involvement by the United States, Britain, and Israel-is incomplete.
The ministry also stated that operations conducted by Yemeni armed forces represent solidarity with Gaza and are not part of an internal conflict as suggested by the UN envoy.
Yemen’s Foreign Ministry called on both the UN envoy and Security Council to adopt a more impartial and objective stance aimed at ending aggression against Yemen and fully lifting its blockade.
The UN Special Envoy for Yemen said Tuesday at the Security council meeting there is an urgent need for preventive and practical measures to pave the way for peace in Yemen.
He added: “We must remain steadfast in our joint efforts to steer Yemen toward a future where it lives peacefully with itself and its region.”
Referring to two ships sunk off western Yemeni coasts earlier this July, he urged Ansarullah earnestly to facilitate immediate repatriation of surviving crew members from the MV Eternity Sea back to their countries.
