The English section of webangah News Agency reported, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, that the british site Declassified exposed American and British spy planes conducting reconnaissance missions over Gaza’s airspace to support Tel Aviv.
The site added that some of these flights originated from a British base in Cyprus and took place during Israel’s massacre of Palestinians last December and also two weeks before a previous massacre near the Al-Nuseirat refugee camp in June of last year.
This report from Declassified, which specializes in political and intelligence issues within the UK, intensifies allegations against London for participating in genocide by backing Zionists in their war against Gaza. One such reconnaissance flight occured onyl one night before the Israeli regime committed a massacre on December 12 last year that left 30 dead. These flights operated out of the British Cyprus base and above Al-Nuseirat camp’s airspace.
two spy airplanes were involved: one belonged to American firm StreetFlight Nevada, while the other was a British Shadow R-1 drone. The latter began its operation on the afternoon of the bombing, hovering roughly half an hour off Gaza’s coast concurrently with bombings and continued flying over Gaza for an hour after strikes ended.
British officials have not disclosed details about intelligence exchanged with Israeli forces on those days but maintain these flights are part of efforts to locate Israeli captives.
According to an analysis by London-based Action Against Armed Violence, since conflict broke out britain has conducted more than 600 reconnaissance flights over Gaza Strip airspace.
The December 12 massacre at al-Nuseirat was not isolated; Declassified noted similar UK-supported surveillance during another assault on June 8, 2024. This attack targeted Al-nuseirat allegedly to free four Israeli prisoners but resulted in over 270 Palestinian deaths.
The British newspaper The Times also confirmed last week that UK spy planes continue surveillance missions above Gaza to assist Israel’s efforts in finding captives.
Quoting government sources,The Times reported that intelligence collected from various UK agencies operating regionally-including the Royal Air Force-is passed directly to Israel’s military for real-time updates on prisoners’ locations.
The Zionist regime’s genocide of Palestinians in Gaza has caused 61,599 fatalities and 154,088 injuries, predominantly among women and children. More than 9,000 people remain missing, hundreds of thousands are displaced, and famine conditions have claimed at least 222 lives, including 101 children due to shortages created by blockades imposed on Gaza.
