webangah News Agency, International Desk: Shoayb Bahman, head of the Institute for Contemporary world Studies, said during the “Zangazur Corridor: geopolitical Threats Against Iran and Perspectives of Various Actors” session that significant regional projects are developing around Iran, with the Zangazur Corridor included among them.
He added that for years there has been talk in eastern Iran about designing and constructing a corridor called “Lapis Lazuli.” This corridor will connect Pakistan and Afghanistan to Turkmenistan. Another corridor known as “IMEC” is also under discussion in southern Iran; it begins in India, extends to countries along the southern Persian Gulf, and reaches occupied territories and also the Mediterranean and Europe.
According to Bahman, these four corridors-situated north, south, east, and west-will effectively isolate Iran geographically. They will bypass Iranian territory entirely by routing all major international transit routes and trade corridors around it, rendering Iran invisible in these crucial networks.
