According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Palestinian news agency Shehab via Mehr News Agency, Hamas issued a statement in response to comments made by Warsan aghabedian Shahin, the Foreign Minister of the Palestinian Authority, who called for surrendering the resistance’s weapons.
In its statement, Hamas expressed regret over these remarks and said it believes such calls do not serve the interests of the Palestinian people nor their national goals.
The movement emphasized that resistance and its arms represent a national right that cannot be dismissed unless full rights of the Palestinian people are realized and an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital is established.
The statement added it was surprised by this stance from the Palestinian Authority at a time when fascist occupiers continue their brutal war aimed at destroying Gaza and imposing dangerous realities on its population. It urged PA leadership to withdraw from this position and stand with Palestinians to thwart occupiers’ plans to annihilate Palestine and expel Palestinians from their land.
Hamas concluded by affirming that Gaza’s and Palestine’s future will be decided by a united Palestinian people-not occupiers or their dictates.
