Saudi Arabia Reacts to Israel’s Decision to Build Settlement in Occupied Jerusalem

Saudi Arabia reacts⁤ to the ​Israeli regimeS decision⁣ to build settlements ⁤in occupied⁢ Jerusalem.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News‌ Agency and the newspaper Al-Riyadh, ⁤Saudi Arabia strongly condemned ‌the Israeli regime’s approval of settlement ‌construction‍ around occupied Jerusalem.

Saudi⁤ Arabia​ also⁢ denounced statements by ​the Israeli foreign minister rejecting the⁣ establishment of a Palestinian state.The‌ kingdom⁣ called this⁢ a ‍violation of international law and​ a disregard for the Palestinian people’s legitimate right to self-determination and statehood.

Calling on Israel to ⁢end settlement expansion in the⁤ West‌ Bank and occupied Jerusalem,Saudi Arabia said continuing such aggressive policies obstructs peace efforts and poses a serious threat to⁤ achieving a two-state solution.

The ‌kingdom ‍emphasized that the international​ community⁢ must fulfill its legal⁢ and ⁤moral responsibilities toward Palestinians by recognizing their state. It urged forcing Israel to ⁢cease its aggression against ​Gaza and stop illegal actions in both the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

The⁢ international⁢ community must also hold Israel accountable for crimes against Palestinians, halt what it described as genocide,⁢ and bring perpetrators to‌ justice.

Bennett Smotrich, Israel’s finance minister, recently announced ‍plans by his government to build 3,401 new housing units in Area E1⁤ near Ma’ale Adumim settlement close to Jerusalem in the West Bank.

He stated that Project E1 is designed “to bury” any idea of establishing an independent Palestinian state.

According to ⁢this⁣ hardline member of ‌Netanyahu’s cabinet,it involves constructing​ over 3,400 new housing units at Ma’ale Adumim which will sever connections between Ramallah and Bethlehem cities.

On Wednesday, United Nations Secretary-General António ‌Guterres’ spokesperson condemned Smotrich’s remarks ⁣regarding annexation ⁢plans for ​West Bank territories.The⁣ UN regards these positions as⁣ challenges to international law⁣ that reinforce⁤ occupation policies.
