According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Anadolu, Hillary Clinton, former U.S. Secretary of State and Donald TrumpS 2016 election rival, stated that if trump manages to end the Ukraine-Russia war without Kyiv losing any territory, she would nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Clinton said: “Honestly, if he helps end this horrific war in which Putin is the aggressor invading a neighboring country and trying to redraw borders, and does so without putting Ukraine in a position where it must surrender territory to its invader-effectively not endorsing Putin’s vision of a greater Russia-and instead takes actions we’ve never seen before by truly standing up to Putin, I will nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize!”
She added that any peace agreement should include a “ceasefire,” “no territorial exchange,” and “an obligation for Putin to gradually withdraw from occupied areas.”
Clinton continued: “If we can achieve such an outcome-and if Trump is its architect-I will nominate him for the Nobel Peace prize because my goal is not to surrender to Putin with American encouragement. I believe that would be an incredibly risky precedent. I think Trump might actually stand against Putin-not onyl on behalf of Ukraine, its democracy, and valiant people but explicitly due to our own security and interests-possibly motivated by reasons including securing a Nobel Peace Prize that has eluded him.”
In response to Clinton’s remarks, Trump said that her comments might make him “interested in her again.”
