Columbia University Students Condemn the Assassination of Anas Al-Sharif in Gaza + Photos

Columbia University students in the United States held protests condemning the Israeli⁢ military’s killing of six journalists in Gaza,⁤ including Al Jazeera reporters Anas al-Sharif and Muhammad al-Quraqa.

According ​too the English section of webangah ⁢News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency ‌and the palestine Information Center, Columbia University students organized demonstrations to condemn the Israeli occupation forces for killing six journalists in Gaza, among them​ anas al-sharif and Muhammad al-Quraqa from⁣ Al Jazeera.

Anas Jamal al-Sharif was one of the‍ most prominent Palestinian journalists, ⁢known as the eyes and ears of northern Gaza. Standing firm both physically and verbally, he reported on‍ events amidst bombings and direct threats⁢ without ever leaving the field.His frontline reports and footage from ⁤the 2023-2024 Gaza war earned him global⁢ recognition.

Anas dreamed of becoming a ⁤journalist since childhood. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mass communications with a focus on radio and television from ⁣Al-Aqsa University. He ⁢began ‍his career at⁤ North Gaza Media Network before joining Al Jazeera Arabic as a​ reporter for northern⁣ Gaza. His martyrdom sparked widespread international condemnation. Many media⁣ professionals viewed Anas ⁢not only as ‌a journalist but as‍ a living testament‌ to Gaza’s‍ resistance.
