Iraqi Source: U.S. to Withdraw from Ain al-Asad Base

An Iraqi​ source‍ reports ‌an agreement between Baghdad and Washington to withdraw some US coalition bases.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, ⁣citing Mehr⁣ News ‍Agency, ⁣an Iraqi government official told Al Jazeera that ⁢the US-led⁤ international ⁤coalition ⁣will⁤ withdraw from Ain al-Asad ​base, Baghdad Airport, and the Joint Operations Command building, relocating⁣ to Erbil.

The official​ added that this⁣ process will‌ take ‍place​ in September under the terms ⁢of an ‍agreement between Baghdad and washington.

He emphasized that military trainers will remain ‍in the ⁤country⁢ and are not connected to the international coalition’s withdrawal.

Previously, Iraqi representatives have ‍repeatedly stressed ‍the need to expel US coalition forces from Iraqi territory.
