An Iraqi source reports an agreement between Baghdad and Washington to withdraw some US coalition bases.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, an Iraqi government official told Al Jazeera that the US-led international coalition will withdraw from Ain al-Asad base, Baghdad Airport, and the Joint Operations Command building, relocating to Erbil.
The official added that this process will take place in September under the terms of an agreement between Baghdad and washington.
He emphasized that military trainers will remain in the country and are not connected to the international coalition’s withdrawal.
Previously, Iraqi representatives have repeatedly stressed the need to expel US coalition forces from Iraqi territory.
