According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency, a senior Palestinian official told Al Mayadeen that Hamas and other Palestinian resistance groups have accepted a proposal put forward by Egyptian and Qatari mediators.
The source explained that the proposal includes a 1,000-meter withdrawal from northern and eastern Gaza Strip areas, excluding Shujaiya and Beit Lahia.
The official added that the deal would see the release of 10 live Israeli captives in exchange for 140 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences and 60 others imprisoned for terms exceeding 15 years.
The source noted that under this plan, redeployment maps for northern and eastern Gaza will be revised. Urgent humanitarian aid will enter Gaza in significant quantities immediately upon implementation of the ceasefire, coordinated according to the January 19, 2025 agreement.
This aid will include fuel, water, electricity, hospital reconstruction materials, bakery supplies, and debris removal equipment. The United nations and its agencies-as well as the Red Crescent and international organizations operating in Gaza-will manage reception and distribution of these supplies.
The source further stated that Rafah crossing would open on both sides under this offer. For each returned Israeli body, ten Palestinian bodies will be handed over. The proposal also calls for the release of all child detainees and female prisoners.
Meanwhile, an Egyptian official confirmed that the new ceasefire initiative involves a temporary two-month suspension of military operations in Gaza. It includes prisoner exchanges with half of Israeli captives freed. The proposal outlines a path toward reaching a extensive agreement to end the war.
