Wall Street: Zelensky Did Not Oppose ‘Land Swap’ in Meeting with Trump

European officials highlighted Ukrainian President volodymyr Zelensky’s lack of opposition‍ to discussing territorial exchanges wiht Russia.

According to the English section of webangah News agency,​ citing Mehr ⁣News Agency and Russia Al-Youm, the ⁣Wall ​Street ​Journal reported based on European officials that during his meeting ​last night ‌with U.S. President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky did not reject the​ idea of a territorial exchange with Russia.

The‍ report added⁤ that Zelensky‍ emphasized ‍the difficulty of ⁣bypassing constitutional considerations in Ukraine.

Zelensky acknowledged challenges related ⁢to relocating residents and potential ⁤violations of Ukraine’s constitution but⁢ stated​ he is open to exploring proportionate exchanges.

Previously, the Ukrainian president declared in an interview that ceding Ukrainian territory to ⁣Russia is impossible.

After his White House meeting,⁣ he said: “We do not need a ceasefire;‌ we need genuine peace.”

Stressing the critical​ importance of Ukraine’s land, Zelensky said he‍ would discuss this matter directly ⁤with russian President Vladimir Putin.

He added ‌that he had an extensive ‌conversation ⁣about ‌Ukraine’s territories with​ Trump.
