According to the English service of webangah News Agency, citing mehr News Agency and TASS, French President emmanuel macron has rejected the idea of Paris hosting a possible meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Instead, he proposed Switzerland as the likely host country.
Speaking to TF1, Macron dismissed hosting such a meeting in Paris as was done in 2019, saying: “The situation now is at a different stage, and a neutral country should be chosen.”
He added: “Probably Switzerland; I prefer Geneva. Another country could also serve as host. The last bilateral meetings were held in Turkey’s Istanbul.”

The White House hosted this many European leaders simultaneously for the first time in history. prior to thes multilateral discussions, Trump held an hour-long one-on-one meeting with Zelensky.
Macron noted that during the Washington summit among European leaders along with Trump and Zelensky, they discussed holding talks between Russia and Ukraine that could proceed through trilateral negotiations involving the U.S., alongside broader multilateral sessions. the French president said last night that Turkey and other European countries whose security depends on this war’s outcome “should participate in these negotiations.”
