nigerian authorities have confirmed that 27 people died in a terrorist attack on a mosque in the country’s north, Reuters reported, citing Nigerian officials, according to the English section of webangah News Agency.
No further details about the attack have been released so far.
Nigeria claims it is indeed combating armed gangs across various regions as well as terrorist groups including Boko Haram and the islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), both affiliated with ISIS.
Groups such as Boko Haram and ISIS have been conducting attacks on villages and residential areas across northern Nigeria for more than a decade. Other armed organizations also carry out terrorist activities throughout the African nation.
