According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and TASS, russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated current and veteran workers of the country’s nuclear industry on its 80th anniversary. In a message published on the kremlin website, he stated, “we justly take pride in the prominent founders of the nuclear project and in multiple generations of talented scientists, engineers, and specialists.”
he added that through their professionalism and dedication over the years, hundreds of industrial centers, research institutes, and design bureaus have been established. Together they form an integrated scientific-industrial complex that has provided a dependable nuclear shield for Russia.
Putin also expressed confidence that Russian nuclear scientists will continue to enhance international cooperation in this field while expanding fundamental and applied research.
Referring to the founding of russia’s nuclear industry in 1945, he described it as a major achievement marking a turning point in national history-a victory for science and technology that shaped economic development, energy sectors, healthcare, defense industries-and contributed to national security and strategic balance.
The president emphasized that today’s nuclear sector symbolizes russia’s technological strength. The team at Rosatom builds on their predecessors’ legacy by advancing new technologies, implementing infrastructure projects, modernizing its fleet of nuclear-powered icebreakers, and playing an active role in space programs.
Addressing professionals within Russia’s nuclear sector directly, Putin said: “You effectively carry out missions aimed at introducing cutting-edge technologies into key economic sectors; executing infrastructure projects; modernizing our fleet of nuclear icebreakers; as well as maintaining important involvement in space exploration.”
