According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency and Al-Maalomah, Hussein Al-Karaawi, head of the executive committee for one of Iraq’s popular movements, emphasized that a cooperation memorandum signed during Ali Larijani’s visit-secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council-to Iraq aims to prevent the use of Iraqi airspace and territory against Iran.
He added that the Islamic Republic seeks to guarantee its security and territorial integrity against aggressions from the Zionist regime and the United States.
Al-Karaawi stated that Larijani’s trip was intended specifically to stop further use of Iraqi airspace for operations directed against Iran.
He noted that America uses its spy drones over iraqi airspace to monitor developments within Iran. Additionally, attacks by the Zionist regime on Iran have been carried out through this same airspace.
