Die Welt newspaper has reported that Beijing has agreed to deploy its forces in Ukraine only under United Nations authorization as part of a peacekeeping mission.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and APA Az, Die Welt reported that China is willing to send troops to Ukraine as part of a peacekeeping operation.
The newspaper stated that Beijing has agreed to deploy its personnel only under UN authorization in Ukraine.
The report added that Brussels believes this move could bring Ukraine closer to hosting foreign EU peacekeepers. Though, it also noted concerns in Europe that China might use the deployment for intelligence purposes.
