Norway and Germany Push to Strengthen Ukraine’s Air Defense System

Norway announced it is working with Germany too deliver advanced air defense systems to Ukraine.

According to the⁤ English section of webangah News Agency, citing ‌Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Norway will provide air defense systems ⁤worth $700 million to‌ Ukraine.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas‍ Gahr Støre said, “we are now coordinating with‌ Germany to ensure Ukraine receives powerful air defense systems.”

He added, “Germany and Norway maintain very close cooperation in‍ supporting Ukraine’s fight to ⁢defend its territory and protect civilians from Russian air attacks.”

The norwegian Ministry of Defense also announced that Oslo and Berlin will ‍jointly finance the purchase⁣ of two Patriot missile⁣ systems for Ukraine.

This comes as Russia has repeatedly ⁢stated that ‌Western arms deliveries hinder resolving the military conflict and ‍turn NATO countries ‌into participants in the crisis.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov⁤ warned that any shipment containing ⁤weapons for Ukraine would be considered a⁤ legitimate target by the Russian military.
