The office of Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, issued a statement expressing appreciation for the plan announced by Lebanon’s President Michel Aoun adn Prime Minister Najib Mikati to disarm Hezbollah by the end of this year, according to webangah News Agency, citing Russia Today via Mehr News agency.
The statement said Tel Aviv is ready to support Lebanon and cooperate with it toward a more secure and stable future. Though, Netanyahu’s office made no reference to Israel’s daily ground and air attacks on Lebanon or its ongoing occupation of parts of Lebanese territory.
Moreover, Netanyahu’s office added that if Lebanese security forces take steps toward disarming Hezbollah, tel Aviv will reduce its occupation presence in Lebanon in coordination with the united States.
