Trump: ‘Department of War’ Sounds Better!

U.S.President says the country’s Department of defense may be renamed back to its ‍original title, the “Department of War.”

According to the English section of‌ webangah‌ News Agency, citing Mehr News ‌Agency via ‍Anadolu, U.S. President Donald Trump referenced what he described as the country’s past military successes and suggested that the Department of Defense might revert to its former name, the Department of War.

Speaking to reporters and addressing U.S. ‍Defense Secretary Pete⁢ Hegseth, Trump said: “Pete, you started by mentioning the Department of Defense, and I didn’t like that; why‍ should ⁢we be defensive?”

The president linked the name “Department of War”‍ with America’s‌ historical military victories: “It⁣ used to be called the Department ‍of War, and‍ it had ⁢a powerful ring. As ‌you know, we won World War I. We won World‍ War‍ II. We’ve won every war!”

Expressing a preference for an⁣ offensive stance over a purely ‌defensive one, he added: “I ‌don’t want us just to be⁣ defensive. We need defense-but we want offense too.”

Trump also ⁤noted plans to potentially rename the department: “I think we’re going to change (the⁣ name). We will probably have information on this soon.”

The U.S. Department of War existed from 1789 until 1947 when under the National Security Act it was divided into two branches-the Army and Air Force-and reorganized accordingly.Later on,with Navy integration and formation of the National Military Establishment in 1949,it was renamed as the Department of Defense.
