The leader of the opposition in the Israeli regime admitted that Hamas has shown adaptability to end the Gaza war,but Tel Aviv is obstructing progress.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Ma’an, Yedioth Ahronoth reported statements from Yair Lapid, head of the opposition in Israel. Lapid said Hamas’s response to recent ceasefire proposals for Gaza addressed most demands, creating a potential path toward agreement.
He added that negotiations remain possible; however, Tel Aviv is not actively or effectively engaging with mediators. This lack of contact is hindering progress on prisoner exchange talks.
This contrasts with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s consistent stance of blaming Hamas and obstructing negotiations to prolong the Gaza conflict.
