According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Palestinian Shehab News agency via Mehr News Agency, the Gaza government media office stated on Tuesday that Israel falsely claimed its bombardment of the Al-Nasser Medical Complex targeted a camera belonging to resistance forces, while in fact, it belonged to a Reuters photojournalist.
The statement added that the Israeli military launched a second purposeful attack, catching civil defense teams and journalists near the Al-nasser complex off guard, killing several of them.
The Gaza media office further said that Israel released a list of six names alleging they were “terrorists,” but facts show some were killed outside the complex and most were civilians.
The statement emphasized that Israel’s narrative about this attack continues its longstanding approach to evade international legal accountability by distorting facts to justify striking the Al-Nasser Medical complex.
On Monday, an israeli airstrike hit the Al-Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis in southern Gaza Strip, killing 20 people including five journalists and one firefighter. The Gaza Health Ministry reported that israeli forces targeted the fourth floor of one building within this complex in two separate strikes.
