This recognition is expected at the next UN General Assembly session in September.

    The joint statement by⁣ these countries’ foreign​ ministers described recognizing Palestine as a crucial ⁣step toward‍ achieving a two-state solution. They also urged other ​nations that have yet‌ to recognize palestine to join this effort.

    Among them, nine⁢ countries-Australia, Canada, Finland, new Zealand, Portugal, Andorra, Malta, San Marino, and Luxembourg-announced for the first ‌time their‌ intention to officially recognize Palestine. Others like Iceland,Ireland,and ‌Spain reaffirmed their commitment as they had ​previously recognized Palestine.

    The ministry ​stated that as a result of these attacks from October 7, 2023, untill now, 60,138 people have been ‌killed ‌ in Gaza.

    It also ⁣reported that the‌ total number of people wounded by the Israeli army’s assaults on gaza as the war began has reached 146,269.

    In the past 24 hours alone, 104 bodies ‌were transferred to hospitals, while 399 people were injured during this period.

    Since March 18,2025-during a new wave of attacks-an additional 8,970 fatalities and 34,228 injuries have been recorded.

    Thousands‌ more ‌remain missing and trapped under rubble across Gaza.

    The ministry added that in aid ⁤distribution centers over ⁣the past day, 60 ‍people were killed, and more than 195 others injured, bringing casualties at these locations to a total of 1,239 dead and ‍8,152 wounded Palestinians.
