According to⁤ webangah News Agency,U.S. Special Envoy for Syria Thomas Barak ‌held⁣ talks⁢ with Ahmad al-Sharaa, ⁢head​ of Syria’s transitional⁤ government, in ⁣Damascus ⁢on Thursday.

The meeting followed the inauguration of the​ U.S.ambassador’s residence in Damascus, attended by Syrian Foreign⁣ Minister Asaad al-Shaibani adn Barak.

Barak stated afterward: “Donald Trump intends ‌to ​remove Syria from the list of state sponsors of terrorism. Washington is ​working to encourage trade and investment⁣ in Syria to help it overcome sanctions.”

He ⁤also emphasized that Washington seeks peace between Syria and Israel.

The American official claimed their ‌mission in syria focuses on combating and⁢ eliminating ISIS.

barak made his first ⁢visit to Syria as 2012 on Thursday, attending the ⁣opening ceremony of the U.S. ambassador’s ​compound in Damascus.

The envoy, who also serves as⁤ U.S. Ambassador to Turkey, was appointed as Special Envoy for Syria ⁤on May 23​ this year.

The Hebrew-language Times of Israel newspaper, citing Zionist regime officials, revealed ⁢that the discussion between Ron Dermer, the Zionist ‍regime’s Minister⁣ of Strategic Affairs, and Steve Witkoff, the U.S. Special envoy ​for the Middle East, concerning Iran and Israeli captives in Gaza-held earlier this week in Washington-was tense, according to a report by webangah News Agency.

The Hebrew newspaper ‌quoted a Zionist regime official stating that Witkoff expressed dissatisfaction wiht the lack of clarity surrounding negotiations on Israeli detainees.

According to webangah News Agency, citing Axios, the‍ leaders of Saudi Arabia,​ the UAE, ‍and Qatar emphasized during Trump’s recent regional visit that they oppose escalating ​tensions and support a U.S.-Iran agreement.

Three informed sources familiar with the discussions told Axios that‌ these Gulf leaders argued⁤ against targeting Iranian nuclear facilities ​and encouraged Trump to pursue a new nuclear deal with Tehran.

The⁢ report notes that while​ Saudi ⁤Arabia,the UAE,and other Gulf⁣ states opposed the 2015 nuclear deal (JCPOA),they ⁣are ‍now among Washington’s most vocal supporters ​of diplomacy with Iran.

Saudi Crown prince Mohammed bin⁢ Salman, UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed, and Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al thani reportedly warned Trump that attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites could trigger retaliatory⁤ strikes against their countries-all three⁤ of which ⁣host U.S.military bases.

A source added that Al Thani explicitly stated Gulf‌ nations would bear the brunt of such escalation.

Saudi and‌ Qatari officials ‌expressed particular​ concern over ⁢Israel’s alleged plans for military⁤ action against Iran. The UAE reiterated its preference ⁢for a diplomatic solution.

U.S. officials ‌confirmed ⁢all three leaders endorsed Washington-Tehran negotiations.
