    The meeting followed the inauguration of the​ U.S.ambassador’s residence in Damascus, attended by Syrian Foreign⁣ Minister Asaad al-Shaibani adn Barak.

    Barak stated afterward: “Donald Trump intends ‌to ​remove Syria from the list of state sponsors of terrorism. Washington is ​working to encourage trade and investment⁣ in Syria to help it overcome sanctions.”

    He ⁤also emphasized that Washington seeks peace between Syria and Israel.

    The American official claimed their ‌mission in syria focuses on combating and⁢ eliminating ISIS.

    barak made his first ⁢visit to Syria as 2012 on Thursday, attending the ⁣opening ceremony of the U.S. ambassador’s ​compound in Damascus.

    The envoy, who also serves as⁤ U.S. Ambassador to Turkey, was appointed as Special Envoy for Syria ⁤on May 23​ this year.
