According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and Russia Al-Youm, informed sources reported that the US is pursuing the lifting of sanctions imposed by the Security Council on Joulani, the leader of Syria’s ruling terrorist faction, and members under his command.
Al-Monitor reported that the US has proposed a draft resolution to Britain and France requesting the removal of Joulani’s name and that of his Interior minister,Anas Al-Abdah,from UN sanction lists. These sanctions are part of counter-terrorism measures targeting al-Qaeda and ISIS networks.
US President Donald Trump had previously announced plans to lift American sanctions against Joulani as a means to support his terrorist regime.
sources revealed that in its initial draft, Washington included sanctions against Tahrir al-Sham. Though,anticipating opposition from countries like China,it now aims to pursue this matter through the UN sanctions commitee operating in secrecy.
