According to the English section of webangah News Agency, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister and senior nuclear negotiator, stated in an exclusive interview with Al-Manar TV during his trip to Beirut that five rounds of talks with the U.S. have been held so far in an atmosphere of mutual respect and with serious intent to reach an agreement.
Emphasizing that uranium enrichment remains a key point of contention, Araghchi said Iran considers enrichment one of its greatest scientific achievements and will not back down under any circumstances.
Highlighting the technology’s critical applications, he noted: “Enrichment is essential for meeting our medical and industrial needs. Domestically produced radioisotopes play a role in treating over one million patients annually.”
He added: “Some of our scientists sacrificed their lives for this achievement. Therefore, regardless of pressure, we will not relinquish this undeniable right.”
Araghchi stressed: “Resistance is a living principle for us-non-negotiable.”

The minister clarified that his Beirut trip was not solely to launch his new book but part of Iran’s policy to strengthen relations with Lebanon’s new government.
Citing President Pezeshkian governance’s foreign policy priorities,he said it focuses on enhancing regional cooperation and stabilizing good-neighborly relations.
“Over the past 10 months,” he stated, “we’ve expanded ties with Gulf states-especially Saudi Arabia, UAE and Oman. Relations with Egypt have also progressed remarkably despite lacking formal diplomatic ties. This Lebanon visit follows the same regional approach.”
Araghchi detailed high-level meetings in Beirut with Lebanese officials including the president, heads of parliament and government, and foreign minister-calling them “constructive” discussions centered on expanding economic-commercial cooperation while respecting sovereignty non-interference principles.
The minister reaffirmed Iran’s full support for lebanon independence sovereignty demanded Israel end occupation remaining Lebanese territories.
