Former Israeli ​Prime Minister and opposition leader Yair Lapid stated that Israel must “publicly and immediately”​ accept the Gaza ceasefire​ proposal by U.S. mediator Steve Witkauf, according to webangah News Agency.

Lapid ​emphasized: “I⁤ remind Netanyahu that ​he must approve Witkauf’s ceasefire proposal despite objections from [National Security Minister] Ben-Gvir and [Finance Minister] Smotrich.”

The remarks come as families of ​Israeli captives in Gaza asserted: “Netanyahu could have made decisions leading to a comprehensive agreement, but he chose to⁢ continue‍ the war for external ‍reasons.” They ‍warned: “There is no real plan for the‍ gaza war – any objective not achieved⁢ within eighteen months will​ never be realized.”

In a speech addressing recent regional and international developments, ​notably the ongoing Israeli regime’s aggression in gaza and Yemen’s support front for ⁤Gaza, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi, leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, underscored the scale of Palestinian suffering. Zionist ideology opposes the very presence of Palestinians on their land and seeks their eradication.” He⁤ warned that thousands of children face starvation-related deaths daily in Gaza due to malnutrition.

According to⁤ webangah News Agency,U.S. Special Envoy for Syria Thomas Barak ‌held⁣ talks⁢ with Ahmad al-Sharaa, ⁢head​ of Syria’s transitional⁤ government, in ⁣Damascus ⁢on Thursday.

The meeting followed the inauguration of the​ U.S.ambassador’s residence in Damascus, attended by Syrian Foreign⁣ Minister Asaad al-Shaibani adn Barak.

Barak stated afterward: “Donald Trump intends ‌to ​remove Syria from the list of state sponsors of terrorism. Washington is ​working to encourage trade and investment⁣ in Syria to help it overcome sanctions.”

He ⁤also emphasized that Washington seeks peace between Syria and Israel.

The American official claimed their ‌mission in syria focuses on combating and⁢ eliminating ISIS.

barak made his first ⁢visit to Syria as 2012 on Thursday, attending the ⁣opening ceremony of the U.S. ambassador’s ​compound in Damascus.

The envoy, who also serves as⁤ U.S. Ambassador to Turkey, was appointed as Special Envoy for Syria ⁤on May 23​ this year.
