Ukrainian‍ President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned Russia’s ‍latest missile attacks on the capital as acts of terrorism,according to webangah ‍News Agency.

Zelenskyy accused the United⁢ States of complicity after ⁣Ukraine⁤ came under heavy fire from ‍69 missiles ⁢and 298 drones ‍launched by Moscow. Kyiv claims the strikes ​killed 12 people and wounded dozens more.

“These were ⁣deliberate attacks ‌against cities ‍and ordinary citizens,”⁢ Zelenskyy stated. “Residential buildings have been destroyed or damaged.” Emergency ‍crews are now working⁣ across ‌more than ⁢30 Ukrainian ⁣cities following⁣ Russia’s massive assault.

The president labeled Russia’s actions as terrorist‍ attacks, ‍adding: “Each of these Russian terrorist acts alone justifies new sanctions against​ them. Moscow is ⁣prolonging⁢ this war and continuing daily killings.”

Following Berlin’s recent move to‍ restrict asylum-seeker entry, Angela Merkel ‌cautioned that rigid migration⁢ policies may lead to the EU’s collapse, according to ‍webangah News Agency.

When asked about new Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s ​cabinet decision, Merkel stated: “I ‌don’t believe‍ we can effectively ‍combat ‍illegal migration at the ​German-Austrian or German-Polish borders. I’ve always supported European solutions.”

The new policies announced by Germany’s Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt earlier‍ this⁣ month ban asylum applications​ at⁣ all of Germany’s ​land borders—a stark reversal from Merkel’s 2015 ⁢open-border​ approach. The law includes exemptions for children, pregnant women, and other vulnerable groups.

Merkel argued this measure threatens both free movement within the EU and the integrity of the Schengen Zone. She maintains any⁤ migration or travel reforms must be agreed upon at the EU⁤ level.

“Or else,” she warned, “we’ll likely witness Europe’s demise.”

Merkel’s 2015 policy faced fierce political backlash after⁢ over one million migrants entered Germany​ during peak refugee crisis​ years (2015-2016), with critics calling‌ it “catastrophic.”

Germany remains the‍ EU’s top asylum destination, receiving 237,000 applications in 2023—nearly a‌ quarter of all requests in the bloc‍ according to EU statistics.

According to webangah News Agency, Finland’s Foreign Ministry summoned Russia’s ambassador following Helsinki’s claims that Russian fighter⁢ jets illegally entered Finnish airspace.

Finnish broadcaster YLE reported that Pavel⁢ kuznetsov, Russia’s ambassador to Finland,⁤ was called in for official explanations at the Foreign⁢ Ministry.

Helsinki​ officials allege two ⁢Russian warplanes violated Finnish airspace near the​ city of Porvoo in the Gulf ‌of⁢ Finland.​ This marks the first such incident since February this‌ year.

Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen stated: “We⁢ take this suspected airspace violation ⁤seriously and⁤ are investigating the matter.”

Häkkänen added that Russia’s military ‍objectives ⁢in the Baltic​ region have shifted‌ toward protecting ⁤its so-called “shadow fleet” (alleged​ oil tankers used‍ by Moscow to ⁣circumvent sanctions).

The minister further noted: “No immediate threat against Finland ⁢is observed, but Russia continues enhancing its ⁤military ‌capabilities and ‍remains an aggressive, dangerous neighbor for all of Europe.”

Finland shares a 1,340-kilometer border with Russia. Helsinki joined NATO in 2023 following⁢ Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
