according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, saeed seyedin, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Najaf, expressed gratitude for the hospitality and generosity of Iraqis in an exclusive interview with IraqS official news agency. He stated that 507 Iranian service stations (Mawkibs), operating in coordination with iraqi organizations, are delivering top-quality services to Arbaeen pilgrims in Najaf.
Seyedin added that the Arbaeen pilgrimage reflects deep bonds of faith, compassion, and solidarity among followers of one belief and religion. He described this event as unparalleled worldwide and praised Iraqis as the most deserving people to serve the pilgrims.
The Consul General emphasized that Ahl al-Bayt (the Prophet’s family) will reward Iraq’s people for their generosity-an act immortalized throughout Iraqi history.
Highlighting bilateral cooperation between iran and Iraq, Seyedin said many Iranian governmental and civil institutions-including Tehran’s and Mashhad’s municipalities-proudly collaborate with Iraqi counterparts to offer extraordinary services to pilgrims. In Najaf Province alone, 507 registered Iranian Mawkibs work closely with Iraqi agencies.
He noted that daily food distribution at these Mawkibs reaches up to 50,000 meals within old Najaf. Additionally, 80 health-service Mawkibs operate under Iran’s Red Crescent supervision with over a thousand doctors and nurses present.
Seyedin also reported distributing about 80,000 blocks of ice through collaboration among Iranian Mawkibs. He highlighted that 30 schools in Najaf have been allocated through cooperation with local education authorities to house these service points; in return for hosting pilgrims there, these Mawkibs maintain part of school repairs and fulfill certain needs.
The Consul General further explained that Tehran’s and Mashhad’s municipalities dispatched more than a thousand volunteer city service workers along with thirty municipal vehicles-including firefighting equipment-to Najaf.Simultaneously occurring, around sixty ambulances have been stationed by Iran’s Red crescent within the city.
Regarding infrastructure developments, Seyedin pointed out readiness for connecting Iran’s railway network from Shalamcheh border crossing toward Basra and then Karbala al-Mualla. He mentioned ongoing bilateral negotiations aimed at expanding rail lines along shared border areas between both countries.
