According to webangah News agency, Qatar and Egypt have intensified efforts to broker a new ceasefire, seeking to bridge gaps between Hamas and teh Zionist regime based on a proposal by the US Middle East envoy.
A joint statement confirmed both nations are coordinating with Washington, urging warring parties to engage responsibly in indirect negotiations to halt hostilities. The proposed deal includes a 60-day truce, potentially leading to a permanent ceasefire, alongside humanitarian aid access and border crossing reopenings.
The agreement aims to alleviate GazaS humanitarian crisis and initiate full reconstruction, aligning with a roadmap approved at March’s Arab League summit in Cairo. Previous truce attempts repeatedly failed due to Tel Aviv’s rejection of key terms.During earlier mediation by Qatar, Egypt, and the US, Israel reneged on commitments for a permanent war cessation and complete troop withdrawal from Gaza.
Negotiations collapsed when Israel refused to specify timelines for ending Gaza’s blockade or restoring civilian access-conditions Palestinian factions,including Hamas,deem essential. Even during temporary ceasefires, Israeli aerial strikes and ground operations persisted, violating truce terms.
