According to webangah News Agency, Al-Rai Al-Youm newspaper reported on ISIS’s first attack against the terrorist regime of al-Julani following the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s government. The terrorist institution ISIS used the term “apostate Syrian regime” while claiming obligation for Thursday’s operation in Suwayda province. This indicates that al-Julani’s forces are now openly targeted, and he cannot stop this trend due to Damascus’ weakened central authority and widespread arms availability across Syria.
Underground ISIS cells in Syria appear to have reawakened. The ISIS-affiliated weekly Al-Naba condemned al-Julani’s recent meeting with Trump, arguing that his altered appearance and engagement with Trump necessitate intensified fighting against the Damascus regime.
Noureddin al-Baba, spokesperson for al-Julani’s terrorist-led interior ministry, admitted that ISIS activities have escalated since Assad’s fall. Clashes between ISIS and Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which control eastern and northeastern Syria, have also intensified.
This attack is unlikely to be ISIS’s last in syria but serves as a stark warning of deteriorating security.On Thursday, the group claimed responsibility for its first assault against Abu Muhammad al-Julani-linked forces. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed it as the initial attack targeting al-Julani’s faction, resulting in one soldier from Brigade 70 killed and three others wounded.
