According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Qatar’s Al jazeera network via Mehr News Agency, Iraqi Foreign Minister fouad Hussein addressed the international conference titled ”Two-State Solution for Palestine” held at the United Nations headquarters in New York. He described the Palestinian issue as a moral test for the global community.
He added that there is a clear double standard in how the international community engages with Palestine.
The Iraqi foreign minister called for an immediate ceasefire and urged humanitarian aid access to gaza.
Hussein emphasized his country’s firm opposition to forced displacement and starving of Gaza’s population.
He stressed that all influential nations bear responsibility to halt Israel’s violating actions.
Hussein further stated,”A just peace in the region cannot be achieved by undermining Palestinian rights but requires establishing an independent palestinian state.”
Lebanon
The Lebanese Deputy Prime minister accused Israeli occupiers of deliberately committing killings, massacres, and starving people in Gaza.
He affirmed Lebanon’s continued commitment to Arab countries’ peace initiatives.
The Lebanese official expressed gratitude for France and Saudi Arabia’s stance supporting Palestine.
The deputy prime minister also condemned israel’s ongoing incursions into Lebanese territory, noting daily casualties among civilians and occupation of five areas within Lebanon’s borders.
Canada
The canadian Foreign Minister reiterated Canada’s commitment to a two-state solution and support for Palestinians’ right to self-determination.
The minister announced $10 million allocated toward strengthening Palestinian Authority institutions with aims of expanding governance over both West Bank and Gaza Strip territories.
The Canadian diplomat condemned violence by Israeli settlers and also forced displacement of Palestinians.
An additional $30 million will be provided urgently to support civilians in Gaza given their critical needs, he said.
United States
The US State Department issued a statement reacting negatively to the Two-State conference in New York, calling it a ”propaganda theater” amid diplomatic efforts seeking cessation of hostilities. The department claimed that such gatherings would prolong war duration,undermine peace efforts,and encourage Hamas activities.
European Union
A European Union representative condemned continued captivity of Israeli prisoners without mentioning state terrorism by Israel. the spokesperson called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza alongside securing safe distribution channels for humanitarian aid.
The EU pledged €1.6 billion over three years backing Palestinian Authority development projects. Furthermore, EU diplomats confirmed sanctions aimed at curbing violence from Israeli settlers where underway.
Brazil
Brazilian Foreign Minister recalled that it has been 78 years since UN General Assembly endorsed a two-state solution; however no independent Palestinian state has yet emerged despite this support.
