“Understanding the role of marja-e taqlid (sources of emulation) is critical for answering this question within Islam-notably among followers of Ahl al-Bayt theology where emulating a living jurist is obligatory regardless of geography.” He added: “These fatwas aren’t mere opinions but binding religious duties.” The scholar stressed that threats against Ayatollah khamenei were unanimously deemed threats to both “The Islamic Ummah’s dignity” (عزت امت)” , and ‘the Axis (محور مقاومت)’.”
