According to webangah News Agency, zionist regime’s War Minister Yoav Gallant strongly challenged French President Emmanuel Macron over the regime’s approval of 22 new settlements in the occupied West Bank.
gallant stated: “the approval of these 22 settlements marks a historic moment in settlement expansion and serves as a forceful response to terrorist organizations-as well as a clear message to Macron and his allies!”
The war minister added: ”They may recognize a Palestinian state on paper, but that paper will ultimately end up in the dustbin of history.”
The Zionist regime’s broadcasting authority had earlier announced plans to establish 22 new illegal settlements near Jordan’s border, including previously unauthorized outposts. The decision was spearheaded by far-right cabinet ministers Gallant and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.
Smotrich called the move ”a pivotal day for the Zionist regime,” claiming settlements serve as its “protective shield.” Gallant endorsed the plan,asserting it would strengthen control over the West Bank and strategically prevent Palestinian statehood,while acting as defensive buffers for larger Israeli residential areas.
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement condemned the settlement expansion as “a new war crime added to this regime’s long record-especially while Gaza massacres continue.” The plan includes 13 new settlements and 180,000 housing units by 2050. The group called armed resistance “the only effective response” given international inaction on humanitarian aid or stopping violence.
hamas similarly denounced the decision as “a blatant challenge to international will” violating UN resolutions, demanding concrete global action against what it termed annexation policies constituting war crimes. It urged Palestinians to resist through all legitimate means.
The Zionist regime has constructed over 100 settlements housing approximately 500,000 settlers as occupying the West Bank in 1967. Recent accelerated construction has confined Palestinians to shrinking territories despite international condemnation of such projects as illegal under international law.
The International Court of Justice last year ruled Israel’s presence in Palestinian territories unlawful and demanded immediate cessation of settlement building-a non-binding verdict rejected by Tel Aviv. three million Palestinians currently live under occupation in the West Bank.
