According to webangah News Agency, Ahmad al-Dalati, a prominent terrorist commander affiliated with the al-Jolani faction in Syria’s al-Suwayda province, claimed he “absolutely did not” participate in any direct talks with Israeli officials.
He dismissed such allegations as “baseless,” while asserting Syria’s clear stance that terrorist groups controlling the country are using all legitimate means to support it.
The denial follows a Reuters report citing five informed sources that revealed recent direct negotiations between Syria and Israeli occupation forces. These talks reportedly began after Bashar al-Assad’s fall last December and the subsequent rise of U.S.-backed terrorist factions – marking a shift in Washington’s foreign policy toward Damascus.
While indirect negotiations had been ongoing as Assad’s ouster and the ascendance of al-Jolani-led terrorists, new reports indicate recent direct security contacts between both sides – including alleged meetings involving al-Dalati himself with Zionist representatives.
Informed sources claim several rounds of face-to-face meetings have occurred, including some held within Israeli-controlled territories.
